This premium 1/4″ compression bit (also known as an up-down bit) is a unique bit for CNC routers. It allows you to cut out your CNC project while leaving both the top and bottom edges of your project clean (eliminates tear-out).
The 1/4″ compression bit can cut the entire depth of 3/4″ material in one pass.
1/4 compression bits are commonly used in place of the 1/4 up-cutting endmill and the down-cutting endmill. They are excellent for use when cutting out plywood at full depth on your CNC woodworking projects.

(verified owner)Clean cuts top and bottom
This was my first use of a compression bit and it gave very clean cuts both top and bottom of 15mm thick Baltic Birch ply. The sides required no sanding. Used 60 ipm feed and 30 ipm plunge. Last pass allowance was 0.4 mm. Very pleased with this bits’ performance.
