Reviews

If you’re tired of spending hours while you wait on your CNC router to remove material from your CNC woodworking projects, then you’ve come to the right bit.

Welcome to the aptly nicknamed "BEAST", a 1/4" hyper-speed CNC router bit from IDC Woodcraft, the ultimate solution for lightning-fast material removal.

With a ¼ shank, the “BEAST” falls into the roughing bit category. Even so, this bit will blow your mind with its unparalleled speed and material removal. Keep in mind that the "BEAST" is not designed to deliver clean cuts. Its sole purpose is speed, and it excels at it!

Featuring a staggering 3/4" depth of cut per pass, an 100ipm plunge rate, 80% step-over, (it is actually capable of feed rates as high as 800 inches per minute on floor-model machines) the "BEAST" is the undisputed champ when it comes to rapid material removal from your CNC router woodworking projects.

Designed with a thicker core and a shorter flute length, the "BEAST" CNC router bit is built to withstand rigorous workloads.

The ZrCN composite coating increases tool life significantly. Coating specs: Hardness of 2500 Vickers hardness, coating thickness of 1 to 4 microns, friction coefficient of 0.3, maximum service temperature of 1000° F (550° C)

But it's not just about saving time; it's about extending the life of your other CNC router bits as well. By employing the "BEAST" as your workhorse for major material removal, you'll extend the lifespan of your regular CNC router bits. Let them handle the finishing touches while the "BEAST" handles the heavy lifting.

Let the “BEAST” out of its cage on your CNC woodworking projects and watch how much time you’ll save!

The beast

Unbelievable on how much material this bit clears and how fast it can clear. Huge time saver.

It’s an animal

The beast eats through even English Oak at a rate that tests even the tightest side clamps.

Suggest using CA & clamps or reduce feed rate to 60% or risk your work piece moving under the onslaught, also make sure your chip extraction has capacity.

Yhe Beast is the Best

I purchased this bit to surface some live oak that was cut from a log. Live oak is one of the densest American hardwoods, weighing almost double the weight per board foot than white or red oak. It's some hard stuff!!! After the boards had dried, there was minimal warping, but the boards dried to varying thickness along the length. With a surfacing bit, you're not going to take off more than a 1/32" per pass, a long slow process. So my plan was to use the "Beast" to hog out the roughness of the boards and then use a surfacing bit as a final finish. As it worked out, the "Beast" did the heavy work and left a smooth enough surface such that only sanding was enough to dress up the surface.

CHECK OUT THE BEAST IN ACTION

Watch the beast rip through hardwood at unimaginable feed rates of up to 1000 inches per minute!

Large projects, pockets and any hardwood you can think of are no match for the BEAST!
